The birth of a family passion

Rizzato Restoration was born in 1946, in Venice. At the time, the founder Nereo Rizzato, was studying sculpture at the Accademia of Belle Arti, avidly learning precious techniques from restoration workshops and finessing his skills working for the most prestigious clients in town.

From Venice to Varese, expanding the family business

In Venice, his work restoring and building wooden boats and ‘Gondolas’ evolves into a lifelong passion for the sea. In 1955 Nero brings the ancient Art of restoration, inlay, and wooden sculptures to Varese, and establishes his own workshop. From the 70s Nereo is supported by his son Fabio, who expertly combines traditional and modern restoration techniques. Fabio will expand the business with interior decor and rigorous restoration of antique furniture, using traditional wood. 

From early 2000s to today

Nereo’s grandsons also join the business from the year 2000, they learn the Art of traditional restoration and successfully focus on the restoration of new and antique boats, reconnecting with Nereo’s original passion from his early years in Venice.  

The Laboratorio Rizzato (Rizzato’s workshop and showroom) in Viale Belforte 248, has been a point of reference for over half a century, for dealers, connoisseurs and anyone passionate about antiques.
